Lingo Kit

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Pre-release draft. Lingo Kit is in development. This page describes the current implementation. Public privacy contact details, retention periods, and account-deletion instructions will be finalized before the app is released.

Your learning data

Flashcards, articles, learning progress, and preferences are stored on your device. The current app does not provide cloud sync or a server backup of that library. Removing app data can remove your saved learning material.

Accounts and service records

Online features use a guest or registered account. The service stores an account identifier, account and session timestamps, and session credentials. Registered accounts can include a name, email address, profile image, a hashed password, or sign-in-provider identifiers and tokens, depending on the sign-in method.

Session records may include IP addresses and user-agent information. The service also stores usage records, such as the feature used, request time, and reported audio duration, to manage allowances, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

AI features and microphone access

When you request an AI lookup, translation, suggestion, or article, the relevant text and language settings are sent through our backend to OpenAI. The backend does not store the text of these requests or their generated responses.

Live transcription requires microphone permission. While a live session is active, audio is sent directly from your device to OpenAI for transcription. Our backend receives usage information, not the audio stream. Text used for live translation is processed through the backend. You can stop a live session or revoke microphone access in your device settings.

Processing by OpenAI is also subject to its applicable data-handling policies. The absence of storage in our backend does not mean that a service provider never retains data.

Sign-in, subscriptions, and hosting

When available and selected, Google or Apple processes your sign-in. App-store subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google, with RevenueCat used to verify subscription status. Our service stores subscription entitlement and billing-event identifiers; it does not collect your payment-card details.

Render hosts this website, Railway hosts our backend and database, and Cloudflare provides DNS. Infrastructure providers process technical information needed to deliver their services, which can include IP addresses and request logs.

This website

This landing page has no advertising, analytics scripts, account forms, or application cookies. Following a link to another website takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Retention and your choices

You can remove saved learning items using the app's available controls. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not itself delete server-side account, usage, or subscription records. Retention periods and a process for requesting access, correction, or deletion are being finalized for launch.

We will update this page as the app develops and publish the finalized privacy policy here before public release.
